Many people imagine driving a convertible in summer, but actually driving with the top down during summer is not recommended. This is because Japanese summers are extremely hot, and driving under the blazing sun carries a high risk of heatstroke.

We do not recommend convertibles in the summer.

When you open the roof of a convertible in summer, the following problems occur.

• The seats, steering wheel, and shift knob become extremely hot.
• The air conditioner is useless.
• Get severely sunburned
• There is a risk of heatstroke and dehydration.

Driving with the top down under blue skies is certainly a special experience, but Japan's hot and humid summers aren't ideal for driving. We recommend keeping the roof closed and running the air conditioning during the daytime.

Nighttime drives are a must-do.

Summer open-top driving can be quite harsh, but that's only during the daytime. Come nightfall, the route transforms completely into a comfortable driving experience.

The sun that pierces the skin is hidden, so the risk of heatstroke and sunburn drops significantly. The seats and steering wheel won't get hot, and on days when the temperature is below 30 degrees Celsius, you can stay relatively comfortable without turning on the air conditioner. Lowering the windows on both sides lets the breeze flow into the cabin, making it even more comfortable.

Driving a convertible at night is recommended for enjoying the city lights, and stargazing is also wonderful. The open roof expands your view, revealing scenery you've never seen before.
