Terms of Use

1What are the terms of use for Fujimax?
Our car rental service is available only to those who have a valid Japanese driver's license to drive the car in question.
2It's been a while since I've driven a MT car, so I'd like to rent one for practice.
We are not able to rent out cars for MT car operation practice.
3Which driver's license is valid in Japan?


1Does the driver have to make the reservation?
The reservation does not necessarily have to be made in the driver's name. However, the person making the reservation and the person who will be the lender/receiver and the credit card holder for payment must be the same person. Even if a reservation is made by a non-driver, the person making the reservation must bring an ID card to confirm that he/she is the person making the reservation, and the person making the reservation must be present at the store when the car is checked out and returned. Registration of the driver will be done at the time of the visit to the store.
2Can I rent/return a car only at the Fujimax Oita?
Rental cars will always be departed and returned at the store to which they are assigned. Please depart from and return cars at Fujimax Oita.
3What do I need to make a reservation?
Car rental reservations are only accepted on the web. You will need a PC or smart phone with internet access, a credit card and a driver's license.
4Can I rent on today?
We do not accept same-day rentals. Please make a reservation on the web at least one day in advance.
5Can I rent without a reservation?
No, we cannot. Our rental cars must always be reserved at least one day in advance.
6How do I cancel my reservation?
You can cancel your reservation by phone or e-mail. Depending on the timing of the cancellation, a cancellation fee may apply.
7If I cancel my reservation, will there be a cancellation fee?
If a reservation is cancelled more than 7 days prior to the reservation date, no cancellation fee will be charged. If the reservation is cancelled within 6 days of the reservation date, a cancellation fee will be charged according to the regulations.
8Is there any chance that I can't rent the car I reserved?
In rare cases, a reserved car may not be available due to an accident, breakdown, or other reasons. In such cases, we will contact the lessor in advance. In some cases, an alternative vehicle may be provided.
9Can I rent a car with a driver?
By law, we cannot rent out vehicles with drivers, nor can we introduce or arrange for drivers.
10How many days in advance can I make a reservation?
You can reserve more than 60 days prior to the scheduled return date.
11Can I change my reservation date, time, or vehicle type?
Please call the store, send us an e-mail, or send us a message through our contact page. Changes may not be accepted depending on the content. In some cases, date and time changes will incur a change fee. Changes on the day of the reservation will not be accepted.
12If I arrive at the store late for my reserved departure time, will I pay less?
No. Fees will not be reduced. Please contact us in advance if you are going to be late for your departure time. If one hour passes without notification, the reservation will be cancelled.


1How do I pay the additional fee?
If additional charges are incurred, you will settle the shortfall with your credit card upon your return.
2Can I pay in cash?
Not available. You can only pay with the corresponding credit card.
3Which credit card companies are accepted?
We accept VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMERICAN EXPRESS, and Diners Club International credit cards. Debit cards with credit card functions will not be accepted. If you use a debit card, we will unconditionally cancel your reservation and will not give you any refund.
4Is there a mileage limit?
There is no mileage limit.
5Are there additional charges based on mileage?
There is no additional charge based on mileage.
6Do the rates change depending on the season?
Some vehicles have high season rates.


1Can I return a car at a location other than the Fujimax?
No you can. Please be sure to return the equipment to the lending store.
2Can I rent an ETC card?
We do not rent ETC cards.
3Are all vehicles equipped with an ETC on-board unit?
Some cars are not equipped with an ETC on-board unit. Please confirm on the reservation page.
4Do you rent child seats?
Rental is available, but in limited numbers.
5Can I be picked up at the train station or airport?
We do not provide a pick-up service. Please come to the store by bus, taxi, or private car.
6If I come to your store by car, can you keep my car?
If you come by car, parking is free during your rental period. However, we need to keep the keys to your car as we may need to move your car around the store.

Departure and Return

1Can you dispatch a rental car to the airport, hotel, or nearest train station?
We cannot dispatch cars to locations outside our stores.
2What if I can't make my reservation on time?
You must contact the store before your reservation time. If you do not come to the store one hour after your reservation time, your reservation will be cancelled.
3Can I rent/return a car before/after business hours?
Not allowed. Please rent/return your car during business hours. Please be sure to contact the store if you will be returning the car outside of business hours.
4Is there anything I need to bring?
You need to bring your driver's license and credit card.
5Can I return my car earlier than scheduled? Do you offer refunds?
You may return your vehicle earlier than scheduled. However, please be sure to contact us at least 1 hour prior to arrival at the store. Shortened rental fees are non-refundable.
6Can I extend the rental period?
Please contact us. Extension of the rental period may not be possible due to subsequent reservations.
7What if I cannot return the car with a full tank of gas?
Please return the car as it is. If you cannot return the car with a full tank, you will be charged the fee specified by our company. Payment will be made by credit card at the store.
8What should I do if I have a traffic accident?
1. Move the vehicle to a safe location.
2. If there are injured persons, provide first aid to the injured.
3. Call the police (phone number is 110).
4. Contact your insurance company and the store. No matter how small the accident may have been, be sure to report it to the police.
9I found a parking violation sticker on my car. What should I do?
1. Please appear at the police station with jurisdiction and follow the prescribed procedures.
2. Pay the fine at a financial institution.
3. Return the rental car.
4. Please present the receipt date stamp. In the unlikely event that you are unable to present it, we will ask you to sign a self-authorization form and we will retain 25,000 yen as a parking violation penalty.
